Extension Homes

After four or five months in our main facility in Narragansett, our residents usually move to one of our Extension Homes.

Our four Extension Homes (communitybased group homes) provide an opportunity for youths to more intensively prepare to return home and to the community while remaining a part of the Ocean Tides Program. This involves greater community involvement, a part-time job, increased personal freedom, group recreational activities, and personal and household responsibilities that closely resemble family life. Every effort is made to ensure the extension houses reflect a warm and family-like atmosphere and that meaningful community experiences are provided.

There are two Extension houses in the greater Providence area, Gallogly House and Hillside House. Pullman House is located in Cranston and Wagner House is located in West Warwick. While in an extension house, youngsters attend the Ocean Tides School, a vocational school, or the Community College of Rhode Island.
