All young men at Ocean Tides can take full advantage of on-campus recreational activities in the ORC, the gym, weight and fitness area, pool table, video game room, and TV room. Youth who earn special privilege may also make use of the De La Salle Lounge.
Offsite recreational opportunities augment those onsite activities and allow youth to increase their expose and involvement in positive activities to fill their time. Regular features of the off campus recreational program include:
- Swimming at URI pool
- Bowling
- Movies at a local theater
- Track and Field activities at URI
- Cultural Enrichment activities in South County and at URI
- Disc Golf
- Hiking
- Bike rides
- Beach trips
Monthly special trips allow youth to earn the opportunity for
- Downhill skiing
- Visits to the basketball hall of fame
- Visits to Patriots Place (NE Patriots)
- Launch trampoline gym
- SKYVENTURE New Hampshire, and more
Service Learning
All young men at Ocean Tides are encouraged to help others. On campus, in the residential program, with the Brothers, and each other. Ocean Tides also provides community service/service learning opportunities on a regular basis. These activities include
- Activities at Scallop Shell Senior Care Center
- Working with Habitat for Humanity
- Taking care of an Adopt a Highway spot
- Helping at JohnnyCakes Food Pantry
- Assisting with local events, like a water station for the Blessing of the Fleet 10K
- Others as requested or opportunities discovered by staff.
