Ocean Tides is an Equal Opportunity Employer
Each year on May 15th, we honor the Founder of the Brothers of the Christian Schools and Patron Saint of Teachers, St. John Baptist de La Salle. The week leading up to this special day is usually marked with activities, reflection, and honoring Brothers and Lasallian Partners for their dedication to the mission. As we continue to see signs of life returning to what we knew before the pandemic, we wanted to carve out time to recognize our amazing educators, even if we couldn’t gather as a community in person.
Quietly working second and third shift, caring when there are less of us around, on evenings, weekends and holidays. For caring and filling in the gaps for our young men…
For all the great learning, guiding, and mentoring that goes on quietly and without fanfare in your classrooms and throughout the day. For making learning relational and successful for young men who have often struggled…
For being the stagehands, stage managers, filling in and helping with all of the things needs to make sure our caring and support of our young people and families go smoothly. For quietly getting important things done is a way that many do not even know all that goes into all we do for this mission…
Customarily, we honor a Lasallian that has been an exceptional educator, giving themselves fully to the service of the young men entrusted to our care. There is no way to single out one Lasallian this year. So, we celebrate all the caring adults, caring Lasallians who keep the values and the attributes of Lasallian care and education central to our work and how they approach it. This past year was only possible because of how we did so much “together and by association.” Congratulations and thank you to each one of you who shares this caring ministry and makes the lives of kids and families better each day.
This state-wide day of giving, powered by the United Way, will help support non-profit organizations throughout Rhode Island, including Ocean Tides!
To our many friends, we thank you for your support and donations over the years. We hope you will join donors throughout Rhode Island on April 1. We also ask that you invite others you know to support us in our mission of teaching minds, touching hearts, and transforming the lives of young men who need the help of a Christian Brothers Lasallian education!
